Grace Church at Prayer
Email all prayer requests to [email protected].
Requests will be included in the weekly prayer email.
As we continue to press forward into this new year, we are asking our church family to commit to prayer and practice the following:
-
Pray that we will be a people of God’s truth. We must know what God’s word says. The living out His word begins with the renewing of our minds which transforms our hearts. This only comes from God’s word. From there, our character is formed in the image of Christ, and we gain wisdom and discernment. We are to teach one another sound doctrine (Titus 2) and parents are raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). And when asked by unbelievers for the reason of our hope, we will be able to do so with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). This is God’s expectation for each believer in every generation.
-
Pray that we will be a people of God’s love. Biblical love requires action. It is not a feeling. To love one another is to bear the needs of one another, encourage one another, sacrifice for one another, and to pray for one another. Our love for God is reflected in our love for one another and our love for our neighbor. Jesus said, “by this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). This, too, is God’s expectation for each believer in every generation.
-
Pray for our future teaching pastor. Pray that he embraces God’s truth and love. Pray that God will give him a passion and love for Grace Church. Pray for the elders that God will give the elders a word-centered wisdom and discernment as we press forward in the search process. Pray that Grace Church will be patient through this process, trusting that God already has the right man for our church.
